FAKE NANNY WARNING

Following up on the Fake Nanny Warning we recently puplished, here is a photograph of the person who endangered Mr Young's children:

Zena Giambrone

Known as Zena Giambrone, this person conned her way into his home, using false references, for a job as a full time live-in nanny to his four and five year old daughters. She stole money from Mr Young and left the two children standing at the side of the busy Knebworth High Street, whilst she hid the cah in her home. One child was so frightened she ran off and hid in the bushes by the library, whilst the other went off alone looking for the nanny.

A truly horrific story.

KNEBWORTH ROCKS
Hon. Henry Lytton-Cobbold takes local residents on a journey through Knebworth Rock Concert memories and memorabilia.

  Presentation

In a packed Banqueting Hall at Knebworth House on Thursday 21st August, we all sat back and listened to a fascinating and highly entertaining talk by Henry Cobbold, ably supported by his father David (who by the way looked the real deal in his Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ T-shirt and Bomber Jacket), on 40 years of Rock Concerts at Knebworth.

The Event was organized by Knebworth Twinning Association (which itself boasts a few old ‘rockers’!) and following a glass of ‘Pineau’, (courtesy of our twin-town Chatelaillon-Plage), we were treated to a rich tapestry of stories and anecdotes from the first concert to the last – from the Allman Brothers in 1974 to The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Genesis, Oasis, Robbie Williams.....right up to the latest Sonisphere in 2014. Over 100 major artists have played Knebworth festivals, and in forty years, over 2 million people have attended the concerts....more

KNEBWORTH RUNNERS NETWORK

Liz Kirby and her friend started running training in January 2011 in preparation for a 10k charity run. Mow they are fitter than ever and totally hooked on the buzz they get from running; so much so that they decided to look for a local running club. Then it occurred to them, why drive to a running club when there are lots of beautiful running routes around Knebworth?

If you are interested in helping create or join a Knebworth runners' network, please contact Liz at lizkirby63@gmail.com. It doesn't matter what your motivation is - competition, getting fitter or simply becoming better acquainted with your fellow villagers.
