PAINT CHRISTMAS CARDS |

By popular request busy watercolour specialist, Fiona Pruden, has set aside 3 Monday evenings in the lead up to Christmas, for anyone to come along to her home studio in Welwyn to learn how to hand paint a series of lovely Christmas Cards.
Each week will be dedicated to a different style:
Monday 3rd December Snowscene
Monday 10th December Baubles and Ribbons
Monday 17th December Traditional Style
As well as the usual tea and biscuits, it is perfectly possible that refreshments for these evenings could take on a seasonal touch too, including a small snifter of sherry and a tasty morsel of Fiona’s special home-made mince pies!!!
These classes run from 7.30 – 9.30pm on each of these Mondays. The cost is just £10.00 for each of the classes and space is limited so please book as soon as you can to guarantee your place.
For more information, including directions to the studio, call Fiona on 07956 537140 or by email on Click Here.

BATTLE OF THE BRUSHES |
Two acclaimed local artists, Denise Allen of Bramfield and Fiona Pruden of Welwyn, have challenged each other to a “Battle of the Brushes!” The two artists – both of Willow Watercolours – enjoy a bit of friendly banter and some healthy competition where their watercolours are concerned. To help settle the score both artists will open their home studios to the public between 11am and 4pm on the second Sunday of every month, ie Sunday 9th December, Sunday 13th January and Sunday 10th February etc, inviting all local art lovers and interested parties to take a leisurely wander between studios and choose which has ‘brushed up’ the better artworks for you to browse through or just snap-up a great commission-free bargain each month. Refreshments will be available - including home-made cakes in a proper ‘bake-off’ style - so put the dates in your diary and pay them both a visit.

MOVEMBER MADNESS- AT TRUSELLS BUTCHER SHOP |
Trussells the Butchers Movember team is now up to about sixteen hideously hairy men (including our Rector, Jim Pye), who have grown moustaches during November to raise awareness of Men's health problems. For my money, the outright winner is Jon Harris whose Victorian monstrosity must have frightened many a small child on the street. It certainly gave me the shivers. The team have raised over £1800 to date. Help them to top the £2,000 mark at www.movember.com.

KNEBWORTH RUNNERS NETWORK |
Liz Kirby and her friend started running training in January 2011 in preparation for a 10k charity run. Mow they are fitter than ever and totally hooked on the buzz they get from running; so much so that they decided to look for a local running club. Then it occurred to them, why drive to a running club when there are lots of beautiful running routes around Knebworth?
If you are interested in helping create or join a Knebworth runners' network, please contact Liz at lizkirby63@gmail.com. It doesn't matter what your motivation is - competition, getting fitter or simply becoming better acquainted with your fellow villagers. |
