MINDLESS VANDALISM

Recent acts of vandalism have included windows being smashed in St Martins Church and the seats on the green in front of the church being strewn with litter. Without wishing to blame the youngsters who frequent the seats on the green, I think we should tell our own teenagers that they should avoid using the seats, as it is inevitable that they will be tarnished by the bad behaviour of those who are to blame for this vandalism.

I don't know if the events are linked, but I can't help speculating that the same ignorant bunch are responsible for the abuse heaped upon the players in a recent tournament at the Tennis Club in Knebworth Recreation Ground which, was subsequently burnt to the ground on Thursday evening.

If you know, or even suspect anyone of being responsible for any of the acts above, please report your suspicions to the authorities.

KNEWORTH RUNNERS' NETWORK

Liz Kirby and her friend started running training in January in preparation for a 10k charity run. Six months on they are fitter than ever and totally hooked on the buzz they get from running; so much so that they decided to look for a local running club. Then it occurred to them, why drive to a running club when there are lots of beautiful running routes around Knebworth?

If you are interested in helping create or join a Knebworth runners' network, please contact Liz at lizkirby63@gmail.com. It doesn't matter what your motivation is - competition, getting fitter or simply becoming better acquainted with your fellow villagers. Let's get started.
