K A T S PRESENTS - THREE FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

The Knebworth Amateur Theatrical Society are presenting a mini festival of three, one act plays on each evening of 12th, 13th and 14th May. All three of the plays offer acting and presentation of a very high quality.
KATS Cast1. A Kind of Vesuvius by Gillian Plowman (Director Jo Simson) looks at the effect of redundancy on three very different kinds of men and the explosive impact it has their lives. Surprisingly, it includes singing, dancing and some fine comic moments.
2. Tell Me Another Story, Sing me a Song by Jean Lenox Toddie (Director Jeffrey Goodwin) balances the genders with a play which examines the development of the mother/daughter relationship from childhood through to second childhood as the daughter becomes mother to her mother. Many chords will be struck by their conversations - and some will make you laugh out loud.
3. Outdoor Pleasures by Jean McConnell (Directed by the players Nita Gowans and Colin Macleod) Outdoor Pleasures (to send you home with a smile) finds long-suffering Dennis waiting for an open air production of Much Ado About Nothing to begin, accompanied by his awkward and far-from-enthusiastic Aunt Tottie.
Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th May 8pm - Knebworth Village Hall
Tickets £6.50, concessions £5.50 to include a piece of (home-made) cake

N H D C PROPOSAL FOR PARKING CHARGES AND PERMITS

Jean Mafham of the Danesbury Shop, and other traders in the village, are hopping mad about proposals to bring in car park charges in the St. Martin's Road Car Park. Jean has already presented a petition with 400 signatures on it to North Herts. District Council. Her argument is that traders and employees will be stuck for parking, and trade in the village will drop off. North Herts District Council maintain that the charges will mean increased turnover in the car park giving more parking to those wishing to use the shops and businesses in the village. Charges will be applicable on Mondays to Saturdays from 9am - 6pm: 20p up to 30 minutes, 50p up to one hour, £1 up to two hours, £2 up to 3 hours and £4 up to 4 hours, with a maximum stay of 4 hours. If you wish to make your views known, contact Simon Young, Planning Services, North Hertfordshire District Council, Gernon Road, Letchworth Garden City, Herts, SG6 3JF or email Click Here by 5pm on Friday 1 April....more
