BUSY WEEKEND IN KNEBWORTH

This week-end is shaping up to be quite a busy one in Knebworth Village. Tomorrow, Friday 4 March, the women of Chile invite everyone - men and women of all ages - to join them to consider How Many Loaves Have You? The Women's World Day of Prayer Service takes place for us in St. Martin's at 2pm.

On Saturday morning, cakes, pastries, scones and all sorts of goodies will be on sale on St. Marin's Green from 10-11.30am in aid of St. Mary's and St. Martin's Church funds. Cheese, Yes Please! will also be bringing along a selection of delicious cheeses and vegetables. Pray for a dry day and come along to shop local in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.....more

 
WADHAM COLLEGE CHOIR TO SING IN KNEBWORTH

Wadham College Oxford Chapel Choir is to sing a concert of sacred and secular music in Trinity Church, Park Lane on March 19th at 7pm to mark the end of a week spent recording their début CD.

The choir sings weekly Evensong services by candlelight during term time as well as regular concerts both in the UK and abroad, most recently in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary and, closer to home, in both the Catholic and Anglican cathedrals of Edinburgh. Additionally, to mark Wadham's quartercentenary year, we sung a special celebratory Evensong service at St. Paul's Cathedral in February 2010. ....more

TALENT REQUIRED FOR KNEBWORTH FESTIVAL

If you've been singing in the shower, reciting poetry to the cat, or dancing for the dog, you will be delighted to learn that Knebworth Festival Committee are keen to showcase your talent. MULTI ACTIVITY EXERCISE GROUP FOR OVER 65s

A multi- activity group for over 65’s is restarting in Knebworth and is Herts Sports Partnershipproviding local residents with the chance to try gentle and seated exercises, table tennis, badminton, new age bowls, indoor curling and even some local health walks. The classes are part of an initiative from Herts Sports Partnership called Active Together, designed to offer enjoyable activities in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. The two hour sessions take place at Knebworth Village Hall every Friday at 1pm and each class costs just £2.50....more

FOR A NEW KNEBWORTH SCHOOL

The campaign in favour of a new Knebworth school have received a letter from Michael Gove, thanking them for submitting their proposal for a new Knebworth school and assessing it to be sufficiently strong to proceed to the next stage. This means they have been given the go-ahead in principle and must now work to show they can successfully implement the idea. Due to the amount of work that must now be carried out, the government is suggesting an estimated opening date of 2013...read more
